Cellular Automata

Rule-based generative systems for evolving patterns, procedural textures, and artificial life.

STD.DEV Cellular Automata are the basis of rule-based animations and visual structures

Cellular Automata are used by STD.DEV for the generative design of complex structures and interactive animations. These are mathematical models consisting of a spatial arrangement of cells that change according to simple rules and interact with each other on this basis. STD.DEV has a variety of Cellular Automata in 1D, 2D, and 3D, which were developed for different application areas. The underlying concepts are implemented in SCORE for the creative requirements of STD.DEV and serve as the basis for interesting visual structures and animation concepts.
